About KITM

Our charity of focus this year is Kind In The Making. Kind In The Making’s mission is to teach compassion to children through hands-on animal rescue, veterinary medicine, and rehabilitation.

The heart of this organization will take 80 children from diverse backgrounds, in Kindergarten through 5th grade, through the journey of pulling animals from high-kill animal shelters, participating in intake, evaluation, and veterinary medicine, and creating health plans with on-site veterinarians. Over the following few weeks, students will prepare each animal for adoption as they spend time with, care for, and train the animals in their care. Children develop confidence, social-emotional skills, and empathy by experiencing firsthand how their love and kindness can save a life.

There is no bandaid large enough to simply stop the bleeding that is pet overpopulation neglect, and violence in general. But by switching gears to educating and empowering children by instilling compassion in them, we can start tackling the problem at its very core.

We are stepping up for our children - who will become the adults responsible for our world and everyone who calls it home, and for the 6,300,000 animals who enter U.S. shelters every year; the majority of which are abused, neglected, confused, and terrified.

We have the ability to change this. And you have the opportunity to be a part of something powerful, effective, and not being done anywhere else.
